Not sure where to start?
Here’s some of my favourite reading, to help you get your head around some of the main terminology and organisations we’ll be referring to.
Psychologists are not obliged to join a professional association; however there are 2 associations that do provide information to psychologists as well as the general public.
Both organisations have a Find a Psychologist search facility on their respective websites; keep in mind that only members of the association will appear in the respective search databases.
Australian Association of Psychologists inc.
Professional association for all psychologists
Australian Psychological Society (APS)
The other professional association for psychologists
Believe in Change
The public website from APS, providing an overview of common problems and possible approaches that could be helpful in therapy, along with lots of useful links
Smiling Mind

Beyond Blue

Black Dog Institute

Anxiety Disorders Association of Victoria
